Lake Matheson is situated 6 km west of the Fox Glacier township, on the West Coast of the South Island, New Zealand.
Driving Directions
If you are travelling north from Wanaka, Queenstown & Haast on state highway 6, turn left onto Cook Flat Rd in the centre of Fox Glacier Town.
If you are travelling south from Franz Josef (25km) on state highway 6, turn right in the centre of Fox Glacier town.
Travel along the Cook Flat Rd for 5km heading west then turn right onto the Lake Matheson Rd. The Lake Matheson facilities are at the end of this road.
